Shooting Sports and Firearms Web Page

This page's topic is very much on the endangered species list, here in New Jersey. The sport may go the way of the dinosaur. I am enjoying several different activities now, but my children and any grand children ( God willing we get them ) will probably not be able to in the future. It will take a lot of effort on my part to pass the torch.

Here are some posters depicting Second Amendment issues. I am sure you will find some of these entertaining.

I enjoy shotgun shooting, both skeet and trap. I am interested in trying sporting clays in the near future, that looks like a lot of fun. I like to shoot the NRA High Power event, using the M1 Garand. It is the signature event of the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP), started way back by Teddy Roosevelt. It really defines a level playing field for demonstrating basic marksmanship skills. I like black powder firearms shooting too. When I was a teenager, my Dad taught me everything I know about gun safety, shooting a Navy model .36 caliber cap-and-ball revolver. My Dad taught me a lot of things, too numerous to mention here. I will someday pass this information to my children. I have included the golden rules here. My Dad and I learned how to reload shot shells together. Reloading provided us with yet another father-and-son activity and a way to shoot more with the same amount of money. I cannot recall the number of 12 and 20 gauge shot shells we reloaded with simple Lee Handloader dies. All great fun, the memories I will always carry with me.

Here is my reloading page, if you are interested in what I do here, take a quick peek.

I belong to a really great club, The Shongum Sportsmen's Association. They have a clubhouse with an indoor range and several outdoor ranges. They offer many shooting activities. If you are interested in something, but don't have any experience with it, they offer safety and training in it. They are a great bunch of people.

I think this retailer is pretty good, Cabela's. They devote a lot of floor space to exhibits. Their displays are as good as those in the Museum of Natural History, NYC. There is a restaurant here and a lot of exhibits outside, too. Helpful staff, they are a great bunch of people, also.

I have some Web sites that are of interest to me, these links are provided to you, the viewer.

I am the NRA, and I vote.
