Not all the nasty stuff stayed in the pan. Some of this nasty stuff is sticking to the oil pump pickup. No worries here though, pulled the cotter pin, removed the pickup and gave it a ride in the parts cleaner tank. Thinking about it, I am glad I dropped the pan first, instead of turning the engine upside down on the stand. All this goo would have dripped 'up' into the top of the engine. Now THAT would have been a mess!
