I didn't blast this piece. I left the front cover in the degreaser tank overnight. Softened up the years of crud, which came off in sheets with a wide-blade paint scraper. A quick pass with a 3M Scotchbrite pad and the metal was clean. I used Rustoleum Gloss Black paint here.
